PEI Family Violence Prevention Services Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1980. Our primary goals are to provide a place of safety for women and children who are victims of abuse, educate the public about the issues of violence against women and family violence, and advocate for the needs of abused women and children. We believe that it is a basic human right to be free of abuse and from fear of abuse in relationships.The organization is led by a volunteer Board of Directors who represent a broad range of skills, expertise and commitment to the issues.

Outreach Regions

Outreach Support Services are available in Queens, West Prince, East Prince and Eastern PEI. Services include:

crisis support and information
follow-up confidential support
information about other services available in the community
advocacy/accompaniment (when appropriate) with agencies and organizations
assistance in arranging emergency shelter for women and their children
provide support groups

Other responsibilities include educating the community regarding the dynamics of violence in families, as well as Second Stage Housing.
